Welcome! I’m Joy —an artist who loves color and connection.

My Creative Journey:

  • My path to the canvas has been a winding, beautiful adventure. Born and raised in New York, I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo before setting off to explore the world. My travels took me across Europe, to the vibrant energy of Miami and Atlanta, and eventually to Brazil, where I spent a transformative year teaching ESL and soaking in the culture.

  • In 2001, I returned to my NYC roots to teach at the college level while working in design. Over time, I realized that art was my true creative home—a singular place where my love for cultural inclusion, psychology, community, and self-expression could finally merge. Today, my background as an educator and traveler shapes every piece I create, transforming blank canvases into bridges for connection.
